PeoplePerHour.com Service Review

PeoplePerHour.com is one of the leading freelance marketplaces in Europe at the moment and there you can get anything – from logo to website through all kinds of other services at reasonable rates, done via manually selected professionals. While being online for more than 5 years, PeoplePerHour.com may seem to have a lot of catching up to do when compared with the other big freelance marketplaces like for example UpWork. With our team compiled mostly of freelance professionals, we decided that there is no better way to start than with a review of one of our favorite websites.

Usability

Just recently PeoplePerHour.com has undergone massive transformation and it has become a lot easier to work with than throughout the previous couple of years. This is why we decided to give it a rating of 4 out of 5. Now you can quickly look into the traffic stats for your profile or service packages (hourlies), project boards, messages & new job opportunities. See how the new & previous versions compare:

With the new design its definitely easier to keep track of all new projects you work on (no matter whether you are seller or a buyer), the communication and most importantly all deadlines. Overall, there is definitely great improvement in the website usability, but there is still some way to go.

Pricing

Buying services on PeoplePerHour.com via the hourlies is a bit more expensive than the gigs available on Fiverr. However, since pretty much all current freelancers has undergone a lot of screening, the overall service quality is a lot higher. Depending on what you need, the prices range from anywhere between 10$ to $700+ for the hourlies.

When it comes to project pricing, this really depends on what you need to get done. Most of the time, you can get pretty quick turnaround in case you need to get done something urgent for as low as $20-$30, which in our opinion is actually quite good. Sometimes, you can go even below this price, so this freelance marketplace is suitable for pretty much all sizes of projects – from smaller ones where there are just few modifications required  to more complicated ones, where you really need expert approach. The easiest way to find out whether the pricing of PeoplePerHour.com will fit your budget is to post a test a project – it takes just few clicks.

Fees

If you are a freelancer, one of the most important thing you would like to know about PeoplePerHour.com are the amount of fees. Basically, the marketplace has a fixed fee of 15% from the first $250 you earn a month and then the fee drops to up to 3.5% for the remaining earnings. This makes the fees a bit higher than those offered by other freelance marketplaces. Most of the time the fees there do not exceed 5%.  However, if you really are good with what you do, you will quickly lower your fees to the minimum.

Talent Pool

For both freelancers and service buyers there are a lot of great opportunities, thanks to the amazing talent pool PeoplePerHour.com has managed to curate. While, so far we’ve mentioned just web related services, PeoplePerHour.com actually has a lot more job categories than most of the other freelance marketplaces, so you can virtually get anything done.
